4. Jus Sanguinis:
• Definition: Jus sanguinis is a principle of nationality law by which nationality is determined or acquired by the nationality of one or both parents.
• Children at birth may retain inherited sovereignty and may retain the nationality of a particular state if either or both of their parents have nationality of that state (tribe, family, state, instrumentality of a state when used as a means to protect [trusteeship], and for the benefit of the beneficiaries). So long as it creates and only creates from and through a positive relationship (connection, establishment, foundation, continuation(s)). It may also apply to national identities of ethnic, cultural, or other origins. Citizenship, if applied to the sovereign people, only means under the protection of, or protection is extended to the “citizens”, from the tribe, but not as a subject.
• Distinction: Inherited sovereignty through indigenous ancestry (Jus Sanguinis) is distinct from popular sovereignty of a political body. True sovereigns retain inherited sovereignty, which cannot be taken away or become subjective to any other sovereign. Sovereignty granted by popular sovereignty isn’t parallel to inherited sovereignty.
