Mission & Vision

Mission: The Mathias El Tribe exists to preserve, protect, and serve the People from whom it arises. Founded upon the McCaster, Watson, Allen, and Morant family lines, and guided by our Choctaw heritage, other connected ancestral traditions, and the enduring responsibilities entrusted to us by our ancestors and owed to future generations, we are committed to preserving our history, strengthening our families, faithfully administering our trust responsibilities, and advancing our community through education, stewardship, justice, and lawful self-government.

Operating through the Office of the Chief Justice and Trustee, we preserve historical, genealogical, and governmental records; safeguard tribal lands, cultural heritage, and community interests; administer our trusts with integrity; and cultivate institutions that strengthen the well-being, resilience, and prosperity of our People. We recognize that every generation inherits both rights and responsibilities, and we are committed to faithfully carrying forward what has been entrusted to us while leaving a stronger foundation for those who follow.

Vision: The Mathias El Tribe envisions a future in which our children, families, and future generations know who they are, understand where they come from, and possess the knowledge, institutions, and moral foundation necessary to govern themselves responsibly. 

Through the Office of the Chief Justice and Trustee, we aspire to preserve the historical record, strengthen our families, administer justice with integrity, promote education, health, stewardship of the land, and responsible governance, while honoring both our ancestral heritage and our responsibilities to future generations.

We seek to build enduring institutions that preserve lineage, protect the dignity and well-being of our People, faithfully administer our trusts, educate future leaders, and foster respectful relationships with neighboring governments, Indigenous communities, and the public. Guided by truth, justice, peace, and responsible stewardship, we strive to leave each generation stronger than the one before it.
